'tis the season

The past few weeks have been full.  Full to the brim, overflowing even.  Of course, we are so blessed to have such a full life, and I am feeling even more blessed to have things slow down a little.

Noah took his first flight last week.  He did....okay.  Not great, not bad.  He was pretty spazzy.  I have to say I was pretty happy it was a 1 1/2 hour flight, and that we don't live in Detroit anymore (4 hours would kill me).

My dear friend Melinda got married (which is why we flew....), and it's the first wedding I have cried at.  She has been waiting for the perfect fit for awhile, and what a blessing for her to find the perfect one for her.

Here's my cute friends.  I have to say, with all of us growing up, and some of us moving away...it is rare for all of us to be together...in the temple.  After all these years, it's pretty great to be able to all gather there.

And I have to say....my friends are all so cute.  Seriously, my friends are super fabulous!

So, the trip to UT was great, fabulous, and wonderful.  I saw my friends, got to go to the temple, celebrate, and party.  I got to see my family, and make cookies with my mom.  I got to be in the cold and eat at Cafe Rio. I also got to run away from it all.  You know, the responsibilities, expectations, jobs, etc.

When I got home, I thought my week ahead was doable, maybe even a break from the week before.  Little did I know I was in for a crazy week.  A super crazy week.  I had no idea what was in front of me, and I am glad I didn't.  We had two school concerts...Liz's is pictured below, which were so fun to go to. Luckily, I almost remembered everything (sorry Katie,...someday I'll have my kid prepared for scouts).  Now, school is out, the kids are going crazy waiting for Christmas to come, and expectations are lowered.  YEAH.  Hopefully, the craziness of Christmas can leave, and the spirit of Christmas can enter.

I am so glad that you got to go to your friend's wedding. She looked beautiful. And you are right, all of your friends are super cute...but you failed to mention you are super cute and fabulous too...super gorgeous and super wonderful to be exact! It was fun to see you tonight as I interrupted your family walk. We need to just visit sometime. Life gets way too busy! Glad you had a great Christmas though. Talk to you soon!

How fun to be with several of your friends at one of their weddings! I bet that was so special! Lizzy looked adorable for the concert--Spenc asks me often if he can see her again soon so tell her hello from him. Hope you enjoyed the holidays!

BTW- I took Elle to get her 7 month old pics and brought your beautiful quilt to the studio for my backdrop---they turned out wonderful! I'll have to post about them soon and let you know. Love your quilt! And I got my first sewing machine for Christmas...I'm hoping to baby step into making a quilt someday. Thanks for the inspiration!
